20 questions

We film ~18 questions and edit the best into a 60-second Hit. Here’s the complete, unedited Q&A.

Q1

What's your name and what are you known for?

My name is Houman. I'm known for being the founder of Padium.

Q2

What health advice would you give yourself 10 years ago?

Add structure to my life in the health aspect — how I eat, how I move, how many steps, what food I eat. If I'd known that 10 years ago I'd have been healthier.

Q3

What's in your gym bag?

The usual stuff, but a new addition has been fat grips — so you don't need wrist straps.

Q4

What's your morning routine?

Wake up, protein shake. That's my breakfast every single day. It's a way to know how much protein I take with limited calorie intake.

Q5

Any favourite brands?

I use a Swedish brand called Certan. Amazing.

Q6

You're in a new city and want to work out — what do you do?

I'm quite picky. I want nice lighting, a view, a rooftop. When it ticks those boxes, that's the gym. I'm not there to lift the heaviest weights — just look good, see nice things.

Q7

Favourite brand in health?

If I had one choice — WHOOP.

Q8

Supplement you can't live without?

Heights Vitals. Every single day.

Q9

What's the next big thing in health?

Combining health and the social aspect. We're building padel clubs but incorporating recovery — saunas, contrast therapy — as well as the social element where you can just hang out.

Q10

What's the worst health advice you ever followed?

High fat, low carb. I ate a lot of cheese and bacon and no carbs. How sustainable is that in the long term?

Q11

Where does your health money go?

Gadgets. I'm all into the WHOOPs and the Pulsettos and the Sensates.

Q12

Favourite vagus nerve stimulator?

The Pulsetto. I've had all of them.

Q13

What tech do you use daily?

My phone. I'm an Android user. That's probably it.

Q14

What fitness rules do you live by?

I recently joined Built to Last where I have a coach that keeps me accountable. Through that system I've learned to put structure in place. Game changer.

Q15

What's your health goal this year?

I just became a dad so I want to not lose myself. In the last 11 months I've lost close to 15 kilos. I want another 5 off before I start toning.

Q16

Best thing you did for your health last year?

Joining Built to Last. Best thing I did.

Q17

Best place in the world to work out?

Third Space, Canary Wharf.

Q18

Person our listeners should follow?

Oliver Patrick. Someone I recently became quite inspired by.

Q19

Health trend that's BS?

Fad diets and detox teas.

Q20

Dream sauna lineup?

We're building the third biggest sauna in the country in our new Cardiff club — overlooking centre court. That's the dream sauna.
