19 questions

We film ~18 questions and edit the best into a 60-second Hit. Here’s the complete, unedited Q&A.

Q1

Who am I here with and what do you do?

I'm Vishal Amin. I'm the CEO and co-founder of UNTIL.

Q2

What health advice would you give yourself 10 years ago?

Maybe try and do something other than go to the gym. Health's multi-dimensional and right now I only go to the gym.

Q3

What's in your gym bag?

Probably two sets of trainers which I never use. I've got these lifting shoes from Inov-8 which I don't think have ever been taken out. And straps because I have terrible grip.

Q4

What's your morning routine?

I'm one of those wanky, wake up first thing, up at five. I stay off the phone now otherwise I don't get to the gym in time. But I've started a 15-minute stretch routine — game changer.

Q5

Favourite brand in health?

I love what UNTIL's doing. It's hard not to be inspired by what WHOOP has done. I'm no longer a WHOOP wearer, which is an odd new phase. But it's a phenomenal brand.

Q6

Supplement you can't live without?

LMNT electrolytes. I'm addicted. I can't drink water without hydration salts. This is where I should be plugging Heights. But at the moment I'm on LMNT.

Q7

What's the next big thing in health?

Peptides are going to be a game changer. I can imagine a world where we do quarterly blood tests and your peptide stack. We'll look back and think we're crazy for not doing it.

Q8

Worst health advice you ever followed?

I had my bloods done and some doctor from Australia sent me a protocol with 30 pills a day. It was not good for my health to be popping that much plastic.

Q9

Tech you use daily?

Other than headphones and my iPhone — I'm now using Bevel instead of WHOOP. I need to stay away from WHOOP's score which constantly tells me I haven't slept enough.

Q10

Health goal this year?

Just consistency. If I can train four times a week — nail 200 sessions a year — that's a good baseline.

Q11

Anyone we should follow?

Ollie Patrick. Really sensible holistic advice. Explains things in plain English.

Q12

Health trend that's BS?

Vibration plates. Surely they can't work. Looks like something my grandparents should be using.

Q13

You're in a new city — where do you work out?

Either find a gym or body weight stuff in my hotel room. Unfortunately I'm not a runner.

Q14

Bold health take?

Right now a lot of traditional medics say diagnostics are bad because they unearth things that don't need fixing. My view is knowing is better than not knowing. In two years we'll be tracking ourselves at a different level.

Q15

Where does your health money go?

Probably my personal trainer. And then gimmicks — supplements, gadgets. I get sucked in and last about five minutes.

Q16

Fitness rules you live by?

Just make sure I'm active and moving. Don't take two weeks off — it's so painful. Just consistency, keep going.

Q17

Best thing you did for your health last year?

Got much more conscious about sleep. Meeting Bryan Johnson made me realise it fundamentally doesn't matter if you're not doing your sleep.

Q18

Best place in the world to work out?

Somewhere hot and sunny with a view outside. When you're in a Gymbox basement in Victoria, the views are not as good.

Q19

Dream sauna lineup?

I love contrarians. A duel off between Adam Neumann and Elon Musk would be a fascinating conversation. An intense sort of sauna.
